I am selling a 2 volume book: Basic Tactile Anatomy Atlas. I bought it for when I was taking A&P in college, but never got around to using it for class. It is in excellent condition. It will be shipped in it's original packaging, and includes 2 pre-assembled Braille volumes and the accompanying print material. I bought it for $138, and am asking $50 for it. If interested, you can PM me or respond here. Thanks.
Hi,
I don't know anything about Anatomy but a friend is studying it at degree level. Could you please give some more information as to what's included in this book? So that i can ask her whether it will be useful to her? Perhaps the title/author? Will you be willing to post in the UK.
The diagrams in the book include the skeleton (anterior view), skull (anterior view), a vertebra, a scapula, the bones of the hand, the bones of the foot, the muscles (anterior and posterior views), the superficial muscles of the back, the parts of a cell, a multipolar neuron, the brain (lateral view), the lobes of the brain, the eye, the ear, the endocrine glands, the pituitary gland, the pancreas, the hart (anterior and posterior views), cerculation thru the heart, the pulse points, blood cells, lymph node regions, nasal sinuses, larynx (superior view), the respiratory passages, a lung, an alveiolus and capillary, the nose and mouth and pharynx, the oral cavity, the salivary glands, a tooth, the abdominal organs (in 6 parts), the stomach, the biliary apparatus and pancreas, a kidney, a male pelvis, a female pelvis, the female reproductive system, ovulation and implantation of an ovum, fertilization, the parts of a chromosome, DNA, and the stages of mitosis.
There is also some printed material in the form of 2 booklets that came with the Braille volumes whose diagrams I just mentioned. One I know is an instructional book, and not sure what the other is, but they probably help for when a sighted person is working with a blind person while they're using the Braille book. But in the Braille book, there are also pages accompanying each diagram to explain the diagram, as well as the parts of said pictures being clearly identifiable by texture and Braille.
I'd be willing to ship to whoever would need/want this book, but I've never bought anything outside of the U.S. and Canada and have never sold anything outside of the U.S. I had actually been wanting to buy a product myself from an overseas country, but I honestly don't know how buying/selling internationally would work. So I really can't say a definite yes or no as to whether I'd be willing to ship outside of the U.S. Can someone explain or point me to a good site that explains how that works? Thanks.
Hats off and boots down to whoever it is or was that actually made that book! It's so difficult to get books done up for us with that much detail. It always is, always was.
hello,
I am interested to buy this book from you. Please check your messages; i have sent you a private message.
OK; thanks. I have just replied to it.
And I agree. In a way, I can't believe how much the original price was for it, but in a way, I guess it's understandable for the time and detail that went into making the pictures for the book. It's the only book that I know of that has most of the things studied in a typical anatomy class.
Evven regular printed textbooks are insanely expensive at times. I think this book sounds amazing! I don't need it, but I'm so glad it's out there.
I still have the book available for anyone interested in purchasing it.
